  • Week 6-Promoting Equality & Diversity through Play

    • This is Islington Council's 2020 Equalities Report, its a really interesting read. It doesn't just focus on early years, schools & children, but gives an overview of equality & diversity throughout the whole borough. Its useful to us because it contains information about the Equality Act 2010 & explains what protected characteristics are.

All early years settings & schools have to have an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion policy & procedures in place by law.

    • Some questions for us to consider:

Are these toys aimed at boys or girls-or both?

      What is stereotyping?

      What is stereotypical play?

How can we promote inclusive Play?
